Background/Purpose

The Minnesota Directors of Nursing Administration/Long Term Care (MN-DONA/LTC) was founded in July of 1990 with a need to examine the challenges and expectations of the Director of Nursing; the working relationships between staff and administration; and an opportunity to be heard at the state level and establish positions on matters affecting long term care. Today, MN-DONA is the voice of Nursing Administrators speaking on issues concerning the delivery of nursing care in long term care facilities. MN-DONA's mission, to promote leadership excellence in the long term care Director of Nursing, is achieved through collaboration with state and national associations involved in long term care and a dedication to professional and educational development.

Structure

MN-DONA is a non-profit organization, run by a volunteer Board of Directors representing active Long Term Care Nursing Directors throughout the state of Minnesota.

Membership

Active MN-DONA members are comprised of licensed registered nurses who are currently or have previously served in a position as Director of Nursing, Assistant or Associate Director of Nursing, or Consulting Director of Nursing in a state licensed long term care facility. Today there are over 300 members of MN-DONA/LTC.
