MISSION:

As Minnesota Nursing Administrators in long term care, it is our mission to promote leadership excellence through education, networking, mentoring and advocacy for the benefit of our members and the people in the communities we serve.".


Benefits:

 

 

 

 

Membership is over 300 strong. MN-DONA is represented on the Minnesota Medical Directors Association; LPN Practice Committee; Minnesota Health and Housing Alliance Board of Directors, Regulatory Affairs Committee, Government Affairs Steering Committee; Stratis Nursing Home and Home Health Stakeholders; and the MDH Commissioner's LTC Issues Ad Hoc Committee.

 

One of the greatest values MN-DONA members experience is the networking. There is a generous and open sharing of information in all aspects of Long Term Care, including product information, survey results, nursing management and budget control.

 

MN-DONA members who desire more active involvement may serve on various committees: Scholarship/Education; Publicity/Membership; Legislative; Finance/Auditing; Constitution/Bylaws; Nominating.

 

Each year MN-DONA sponsors a Spring and Fall conference which are dedicated to the
professional and educational development of the Director of Nursing in Long Term Care. Scholarships are awarded at the conferences to advance education in Long Term Care.

 

MN-DONA's website provides up-to-date information on MN-DONA/LTC including a calendar of events, legislative issues, board member contact information, constitution, committee information policies, favorite forms, programs and policies, patron members and more!


STRUCTURE:

 

MEMBERSHIP:

 

 

Active MN-DONA members are comprised of licensed registered nurses who are currently or have previously served in a position as Director of Nursing, Assistant or Associate Director of Nursing, or consulting Director of Nursing in a state licensed long-term care facility.

 

Patron MN-DONA members include companies or individuals involved in a service to the long-term care industry.

NETWORKING:

MN-DONA is an organization dedicated to developing and promoting statewide networking of long-term care Nursing Directors.

Liaisons to Minnesota Medical Directors Association, LPN Practice Committee, Care Providers of Minnesota, Regulatory Affairs Committee, MN Health & Housing Association.

A forum for members to ask questions and seek ideas on MN-DONA website.

VOICE:

MN-DONA is the voice of long term care Nursing Administrators speaking to the issues concerning the delivery of nursing care in long-term care facilities.

MN-DONA is a voice to the legislature and the industry on a state and national level.

MN-DONA promotes collaboration with other associations involved in long-term care on a state and national level.

EDUCATION:

Scholarships for advanced education of MN-DONA members.

Spring and Fall conferences are dedicated to the professional and educational development of the Director of Nursing in long-term care.

PUBLICATIONS:

Regular membership mailings with current membership information.

MN-DONA produces a quarterly newsletter with current chapter happenings and articles of interest to long-term care.
